About our founder

Honeypot was founded by Lisa Stratton in 1996. A successful businesswoman and mother of four, Lisa always knew she wanted to do something to give a proper break to children who had hard lives. After much thought and research she gave up her PR business and started Honeypot, a cause which had been close to her heart since her own childhood.

She and her husband, together with a fantastic band of trustees, worked tirelessly to get the charity off the ground and in 1998, opened the doors to The Honeypot House.

In 2004, Lisa decided it was time to step aside and let a new management team take the reins. Her energy, positive attitude and enthusiasm helped make Honeypot what it is today. More importantly, her hard work helped change the lives of thousands of children. It is a legacy we will do everything we can to keep going.

When Honeypot House first opened, 93 children were able to benefit from the charity. We are now thrilled to announce that the House now welcomes over 672 people per year and the Playbus visits over 1700 children per year.

We continue to grow and flourish as a result of the great foundation laid down by Lisa Stratton.
